There has been much discussion over the past few years about a war on Christianity particularly when the Constitutional separation of church and state is invoked. Many Americans seem to think that being accomodating to all religions constitutes a war against Christianity. “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” is considered particularly egrigous in some circles. Let’s look at real Christian persecution.
According to the New York Times, a pastor in China who resisted removal of the cross from his building was sentenced to 14 years in prison, confiscated $93,000 and levied a fine of $15,300. His wife received a sentence of 12 years, confiscation of $93,000 and a slightly smaller fine. Read more here.
